Voice Lessons

Ellen Lettrich has been working with pre-professional and professional musical theatre and acting performers for 34 years, first as a high school classroom teacher and theatre director and, after receiving her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology, as a medical voice therapist and a Production Vocal Coach on the Broadway productions of Matilda and Hand to God. She is a proud voice nerd who loves introducing students to both beginning and advanced understanding of how our bodies make sound and how to produce many different types of singing (and speaking) sounds!

Her diverse teaching experiences led her to found Musical Theatre College Auditions (MTCA), a college theatre audition preparation company, in 2004. Through her work with MTCA, Ellen saw how difficult it can be for low-income students and those from underrepresented communities to access the information and financial resources needed to be competitive in the audition process for college-level acting and musical theatre programs. Ellen then founded The Fund for College Auditions to bridge this information and financial gap. She currently serves as Vocal Health consultant and Vocal Technique teacher for MTCA and Director of Education for TFCA. She also maintains a private voice and speech therapy practice, working both in person in RVA and NYC and virtually all over the world. She loves working with Warehouse and feels grateful to have found such a wonderful education home in her adopted city, where she moved in 2020 after 15 years in NYC.

Ellen is a native Yinzer (aka Pittsburgher), rescue dog mom, and passionate NovaKnicks fan (Villanova Class of 1991!). Don't ask her about her love of indie nail polish unless you have at least 30 minutes.

She owned a Vocal Performance Academy in WV for 4 years before moving to Virginia as well. Rachel studied Music Education with a concentration in Voice at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA. She has coached multiple vocal ensembles and individual students to receive many accolades and opportunities in the vocal world. She takes pride in growing herself and has attended many vocal coach and skill workshops over the years. Her favorite was being coached by Roberta Duchak, the vocal coach of Hugh Jackman!

Rachel believes in striving for excellence, consistency in working on your craft, and building strong connections with her students. She takes pride in not only helping them become excellent performers and vocalists, but excellent humans. She believes and coaches that technique is important, but so is confidence, a positive mental attitude, and that having a “kind to yourself and others” spirit will truly take you as far as you’d like to go.

Rachel loves fitness, the Harry Potter series, and traveling. A Jersey Girl at heart, she loves the shore, ice cream over dinner, and spending time with her family and dogs :)
